Ana García, Saxophone

Spanish saxophonist Ana García Caraballos is known for her fiery, expressive and agile performances.  A sought-after solo artist and chamber musician, Ana seeks out unusual ensemble combinations that integrate the different sound possibilities of the saxophone. This passion has led her to found SOLARTE, and Xelana Duo, together with bassoonist Alexander Davis.

Recent career highlights include a performance at Symphony Space with the renowned Kronos Quartet in collaboration with the ÆON Music Ensemble for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Summit. Ana has been a featured artist in prestigious music festivals such as the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival, the Tribeca New Music Festival, Make Music New York, Xlassical, New York Composers Circle, Noel Pointer Foundation, Locrian Chamber Series, NYC’s Rising Stars Gala, and PAM’15 Pamplona Acción Musical. Ana's artistry can be heard in several recordings of new works by eminent composers, including John Lissauer (Allard Variations), Rob Karpay (Trendwave), Alex Burtzos (The Revivalist), and Jeff Scott (A Passista Mais Linda). 

Ana García Caraballos holds a Master of Music degree in classical saxophone from the Manhattan School of Music, where she is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree under the mentorship of Paul Cohen.
