WHO ARE WE?

SOLARTE focuses on promoting the art and culture of Spain and Latin America in a new and unique interdisciplinary artistic way.

We are a contemporary/classical nontraditional quintet (voice, guitar, saxophone and piano plus dancer), which can also be presented in multiple combinations. We are committed to championing works by Spanish and Latin American composers. We create and perform our own unconventional transcriptions and arrangements in order to help audiences connect and engage with Spanish culture. One of our goals is to contribute to the promotion of emergent Spanish composers and therefore commissioning new compositions.

Past performances include a recital in Spain, and participation at the "10th Annual International Concert" at Manhattan School of Music, at the "Garden Party" at Instituto Cervantes in New York and at the "International Cultural Exchange Showcase" at Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance. This past December, the ensemble offered a recital, "a tempo," at the  Instituto Cervantes NY to celebrate Spain's rich musical and dance heritage.
