SOLARTE, a new project founded in 2015, focuses on promoting the art and culture of Spain and other Spanish speaking countries in a new and unique interdisciplinary artistic way.
The ensemble consists of artists from different artistic disciplines (music, dance, poetry, visual arts). The instruments featured are voice, saxophone, guitar, and piano, incorporating further additions, such as percussion or strings, depending on projects or collaborations. Furthermore, the ensemble can be presented in multiple combinations within its members according to the nature of events.
The repertoire offered includes a great variety of styles with Spanish influence, from traditional to contemporary works and new music. It alternates original compositions with arrangements prepared by members of the ensemble. One of the other goals of the ensemble is to contribute to the promotion of emergent Spanish composers and therefore commissioning new compositions.
First performances include a recital in Spain and the participation at the 10th Annual International Concert at Manhattan School of Music in New York.
